Just as we own a large store of memories, we can recognize, appreciate and aspire vast number of opportunities to satisfy our instincts, which is completely denied to trees, dogs and earthworms. But the spirit is more than just memories and aphorism.

These contents in, after all, using the same physical equipment and simple dogs and, to some extent, the worms have in common with us. (In this the plant kingdom is different, of course.) Walking, fight, feel, breathe, hear a concert, love or to apply for deputy, all this machinery requires not only physical and psychological. They are products of stimuli to act - through the spirit - on the muscles and glands.

The exchange of psychological and physical, in fact, is such that, except for theoretical purposes, are almost inseparable. There could be disputes among psychologists about whether a man ran because he was afraid or was scared because I ran. We now know that both attitudes are true, the race is part of the action of mind on that issue as much as lightening the skin or palpitation of the heart, the shiver of the hair or the illusion of seeing a ghost.

It consists of an impossible task, discuss with an advantage over different types of mind without referring to the various factors that come to form the different types of human beings. Psychologists used to think that the spirit was, simply, brain function, just as the bile is a product of the liver and the breathing function of the lungs. We now know that it requires much more than two lungs for breathing (also a nose, trachea, some chest muscles, diaphragm and a regulating center). We, likewise, that the brain is only one of the organs of spirit, that is only part of the mechanism that assists individuals in their adaptations.

The psyche depends to some extent, the storage of memories in the brain, but also depends on sensory nerve endings in the skin of the extremities and motor nerve, muscle, depends on the muscles and to some extent, all physical structures body.

Given these factors mentioned above conclude that, by writing on the human mind, must abandon the project of writing about it to be the repository of small tricks of the brain. We have to write about it as a process of adjustment. And this, it was difficult, because writing about processes is a matter of no substance, it is in humans and how these processes apply to them that people are interested. How can we state that our focus of interest is the human being as a bundle of instincts, habits, memories, organs, muscles and sensations, passing everything through a process, a process constantly changing in an effort to become more comfortable, constantly modifying their environment for the same purpose, and constantly being modified by their environment, sometimes for better and worse for others?

The term (Personality) "organization consisting of all the cognitive, affective, volitional and physical properties of an individual" serves our purpose. She, naturally, has been used to describe almost anything from the attributes of the soul to a new talc. The way that I will use it, means the individual as a whole, your height and weight, his loves and hates, their blood pressure and its consequences, their smiles, hopes, and their leggy inflamed tonsils. It means everything and everyone is all she is trying to be. That is the meaning of modern psychiatric term "personality" (Organization consists of all the cognitive, affective, volitional and physical properties of an individual).
